Comfort Suites Hanes Mall

We found this to be an affordable option, with clean rooms, a good range of free breakfast choices, and exceptional staff. The hotel has a tucked-away feel, backing onto green space, and it's near plenty of restaurants as well as Legacy stables venue. We had a great quick stay for our nieces wedding.

The staff are great, courteous, and helpful, and the showers have good water pressure. Rooms are okay, though the mattresses are a bit firm. Some rooms have weaker AC than others. The hotel is close to Hanes Mall, other shops, and restaurants, and the price changes from day to day, like at many hotels with surge pricing. It's right off the highway, so traffic noise comes through if your room is next to it. The tubs are slippery to stand in. My son fell once, and I don't understand why the hotel hasn't addressed this safety concern.

I never stayed in the room. I checked in without a reservation, got the keys, and went up to check that the room was acceptable, as I do with any room I reserve. It had a horrible smell and other problems, so I went straight back downstairs and asked for a refund because of the smell alone. The clerk said she couldn't issue it herself and would need her manager, and that it could take 3-5 business days. I left after returning the keys. A week later, I had still heard nothing after emailing and calling the manager, so I disputed the charge with my bank. The hotel seems to be keeping payment for a room I didn't use. Between the refund issues, unfounded charges, and dirty or smelly rooms, I don't recommend booking here and won't return.

Clean room, and it smelled clean too. We had a really good stay and would come back. My only reason for giving 4 stars is the small refrigerator. That's common enough, but after eating out we had leftovers I didn't want to throw away. We were traveling with our small cloorer.
