Hudson Valley Resort

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, though the decor feels dated. I noticed a few small fixes that are overdue, including chipped paint, a bathroom faucet that dripped, and a hallway carpet in need of a deep clean. The staff were the highlight over our two nights: everyone I dealt with was friendly, quick to help, and ready with local suggestions. Check-in was easy, and the price seemed fair for what I got. There was good food, too. I'd come back if the rate worked for me, and hope they take care of those repairs. With some updates, this could be a four-star stay. It suits someone looking for an affordable place with good service who can overlook cosmetic wear.

The lobby is the one part of the hotel that looks even somewhat nice. The property has huge grounds, a rundown golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, a lake, rolling hills, and big trees, so it’s frustrating to see how much potential is going to waste. I really hope the owners renovate. The rooms are awful and seem like they might have been beautiful 50 years ago. The staff are nice, though a few workers were rude. I also worried about possible bedbugs. It’s a shame, because this place could be gorgeous if someone cared for it.

The rooms are coming apart, with cobwebs everywhere, and the whole place feels like it’s slowly dying. Breakfast potatoes were literally rancid, much of the food was revolting, and one dinner’s table service took two and a half hours. The cheese platter they served was made entirely of American cheese. It felt as if the owners and staff had stopped caring about the hotel and its guests. Please don’t come here for any reason.

There were stains all over, blood in my room, and cockroaches everywhere. The place is a mess, out in the middle of nowhere, and the people could have been better. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
