We chose this lodge for our 10th anniversary in January, and it made for a really memorable trip. My now-fiancé and I booked a river-view room after speaking with Cici, who was lovely and happy to hear we’d picked the lodge for our special date. When we arrived, she’d upgraded us to their “best view” and left a “romantic package” in Room 108. It was spacious, clean, and nice, with a warm heater. The owner was thoughtful and kind, and the staff were very nice, seemingly all women. As we were leaving, the groundskeeper caught up with us to give us water bottles for the road. The patios are great for stargazing, and the yellow outdoor bulbs are a nice touch since bugs can’t see that light. The lodge has river access and rooms overlooking the water. It’s close to the brewery, Market and Ewings, which we also recommend, and just a 2-minute drive or 7-minute walk from the Kernville center. Thanks to all the ladies for a lovely anniversary. We’ll definitely come back!

We had coffee on the balcony while looking out at snowy mountains, and the river view from our king room was amazing. The bed was very comfortable, and both the shower and tub worked well with nice hot water. It was a wonderful little getaway, our best stay in Kernville so far. We’ll definitely be back!

The river was easy to reach from the grounds, and the rural-style landscaping was beautiful. We enjoyed the balcony views, and there’s a pool for summer, or for hardy swimmers in winter. Parking was plentiful, free, and easy to access. Local amenities are close by too, including a huge store with everything from hot food to camping gear, plus bars, restaurants, and a brewery. Whispering Pines had a lovely old-cottage feel, with a fridge, microwave, and everything else we needed. The layout is a little quirky, which added to the fun. Our room was clean and warm, and the imitation log fire gave it a nice atmosphere. There was also a combined AC and heater for comfort. The woman who booked us in was friendly and helpful, and even when I couldn’t figure out the TV after the office had closed, someone came to show me how within 10 minutes. The cleaning crew were friendly and happy to see us too. We enjoyed our stay from check-in to checkout. Support this family-run motel. Regards, Steve

The river-view balcony was a lovely part of our room, and waking up to the view each morning was unforgettable. Quiet trails lead down to the river, and there’s a charming nearby town with plenty of good food options. The lodge is surrounded by so much nature, making it a perfect getaway. The staff were welcoming, kind, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. My family and I left refreshed and can’t wait to return.

I stay here often for work, and knowing I’ll be back makes it easier to leave home. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Each stay has generous amenities: a cozy bed, clean room, coffee maker, ice machine, and even a bath to relax in after a long day in the field. Thanks for always making it a lovely stay 🙏 😊
