The Kewaunee Inn

The rooms are so vintage and cute, and they’re comfy and cozy. It’s reasonably priced, and the owner is very kind. He’s working on renovations and is open about what he’s doing, even showing you the plans in progress. The ghosts seem pretty friendly too, as long as you’re not wild and rowdy!

The hotel is packed with antiques and memorabilia, and we spent a lot of time looking at it all. We stayed four nights during the NFL Draft in Green Bay. Alex was a wonderful host, and we spent hours with him hearing about the hotel’s history and touring the lobby, rooms, dining area, and beautifully restored bar, with its original stained glass fixtures and tile floors. We heard it’s haunted by three friendly ghosts, though we didn’t encounter any. We’ll definitely return and visit with Alex.

There were only six guests at the hotel that night, so we got to spend most of the evening with Alex. He was a gracious host, told us about the hotel’s history, and gave us a tour. The bar area is beautiful, and the bedrooms are full of history. We chose it because of the haunted past and kept an open mind. A few of us heard sounds during our stay, so we weren’t disappointed. We all left feeling like we’d made a new friend, and we plan to return. If you’re after a historic hotel with a haunted history, this is the place.

We booked two rooms through expedia.com at $128 a room per night, $256 total, but were charged $370 on Aug 19 2024. I’ve made more than 20 calls trying to get the overcharge refunded and have spoken to the same person repeatedly. The first time, we were told the owner’s brother had died and someone would get back to us. A month passed with no refund. When I called again, they said it would be handled in two weeks. By the second month, they asked for our name, number, and proof of our stay again. I gave them everything and asked them to check their records. Six months later, nothing has been done and there’s still no refund. I don’t know why the owner is giving us the runaround. He said it wasn’t that much money and he didn’t understand why we kept calling to ask for it. Every time, we’re told it’ll be taken care of and that the information was given to the owner. How long should a credit card overcharge refund take? Six months seems like far too long. I just got off the phone and was told they’d contact us by noon. It’s now 10am. After waiting more than six months, I feel we should get the full $370 back.
