Ocean Pointe Suites at Key Largo

We loved the property and would like to come back. The grounds were beautiful and well landscaped, the pool was amazing for my kids, and we loved the manager at the tiki bar by the pool. Staff were amazingly friendly. It’s fully gated with security, and they dropped a can opener at our room when we needed one for Christmas dinner. We even took some professional photos there with my nice camera. The dishes were all dirty when we arrived, so we had to wash them before making food. That kept me from giving a higher rating. Still, it was a great experience and I’ll recommend it to others.

This was our third stay, and we came back because of the location and how good our earlier visits had been. The place isn’t managed the same now. The condo smelled like an ashtray, which is really gross for nonsmokers. It wasn’t clean, and we had to clean it ourselves and buy supplies, including a broom. The main room vanity was rotting, there was mold in the shower, and the sheets had a stain. The kitchen wasn’t stocked well enough for cooking, and the beach wasn’t maintained like it had been in past years. It wasn’t even nice to spend time there anymore. Employees were smoking all over the property, and the game area smelled so much like urine that we couldn’t stand being there. We’ll find a new resort to visit each year. Sad that this used to be a hidden gem we loved.

The location is great, and the pool area was nice. The food onsite had lots of variety, though we didn’t order any. But the condo itself and the service were subpar, especially for the price. The second bedroom’s bed was completely broken and unusable, while one side of the master king bed sagged. We called right after checking in and were told maintenance wouldn’t be available until the next day, but nobody called or came to help. The master faucet was faulty, some outlets didn’t work, and the apartment wasn’t very clean. My crawling baby found a chip on the floor almost immediately, though we hadn’t eaten chips.

The resort itself was nice, but our unit was dirty. The dishes in the cupboards needed washing before we could use them, and the kitchen had nothing for baking. We also had to buy our own toilet paper for a three-day stay, and there were no cleaning supplies. I called and texted the office about the condition of the unit and the missing supplies, but nobody got back to me. The service was very poor. We won't stay there again.
