Galleon Resort and Marina

The Galleon Resort is right on the gulf, and our week 40 family goes every October. We always have a great time. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, and the room is always clean. Furniture upgrades are underway, including new bedroom furniture in 2026. Guests have a pool and a little beach on the gulf just for Galleon visitors. The resort is three blocks from Duval Street and Mallory Square, with live music, shops, local entertainment at the square, and beautiful sunsets night after night. There’s also a pier for guests who like to fish. It’s become a real family vacation tradition, and I hope my kids keep it going with their own families when they’re grown.

The tiki bar and Pirates Cove were great and really convenient, and we loved having a private beach. Great staff, amenities, and location too. We had a lovely stay over fantasy fest and would definitely come back.

My wife and I rented a place here for almost a week, we’re not owners. The people were superb, and the location was just right: in the historic shopping district but at the end away from the cruise ships. You can enjoy all the tourist side of Key West and then retreat to your own little piece of paradise. There’s a private beach and pool, and the kitchen is well equipped. I could live here comfortably for months.

I paid $450 for one night in February 2025, and the room fell short. I’d confirmed beforehand that a crib was available, but the one they brought to our room was broken and unusable. The blinds let in a lot of light, and a bright streetlight in the inner courtyard shone straight into the room, so we couldn’t sleep properly. I told the hotel manager, who took my phone number and email, but never followed up. For that price, I expected much better comfort and service. Based on this stay, I can’t recommend the hotel.
