The location worked so well for us: close to plenty of restaurants, with Cuban Coffee Queen just across the street for mornings and La Te Da next door. The room had a kitchenette, plenty of space, and that classic Key West look. It was clean and quiet, even though it sat above a cozy rum bar on the calmer end of Duval Street. Just remember this is an inn, not a hotel, so there’s no staff on site after the bar closes late. That wasn’t an issue for us. The staff really went above and beyond. I left my hat and a newly bought coffee mug on the sidewalk while stopping to photograph the inn, and didn’t notice until my brother and I were almost in Miami. I figured they were gone for good, but my brother urged me to call. The staff found both items and mailed them to my house. That kind of care brought back my faith in customer service.

Spent a week in the Keys with a bar right downstairs, which made it easy to stumble back to our room. The outdoor seating was great for drinks and watching people go by, and it was an easy setup for getting to Duval. Mark, Frank and Jules made excellent drinks at the Rum Bar. Friendly staff and nice rooms for anyone ready to settle in for a stay. 💜💛❤️

I always stop by the rum bar when I'm in Key West. On a hot day, the air conditioning feels so good, and there are a hundred or more rums from around the world to check out. Across my visits, every bartender I've had has known their stuff and made wonderful drinks.

The front balcony was such a peaceful spot to sit and watch people, and there are plenty of coffee and food places within a couple of blocks. Our room looked out over Duval from above the bar. I expected noise, but it closes at 11, and this part of the street is far enough from the partying that there wasn’t much foot traffic beyond people heading to and from their hotels. The building is beautiful and historic, in classic Key West style. It was a real speakeasy during Prohibition and now has a bar. The room itself was gorgeous, with wood floors, a kitchenette, a good-sized bathroom, and darkening shades on every window. That toilet had an amazingly strong flush, almost like a spaceship taking off, and startled us every time. The bar has unusual drinks, indoor seating, a porch, and a fat cat. Parking is included, and there are several Duval Loop stops within a block or two. It’s also close enough to walk to the usual attractions. The electronic key was handy, and there’s a keypad staff set using part of your phone number. I’d happily stay here again.

The Rum Bar is fun, and there are nice places to sit out front. If you smoke, you can do that outside. This is an older place, but it’s been recently remodeled and is very nice. There are only 7 rooms, so don’t expect to book it for a long stretch. It’s toward the end of Duval, near the farthest point in the US. We had a great few days here, and could easily have stayed a week. We plan to come back!!! 😎
