The Porch on Frances Inn

We got lucky with a parking space right outside our door, as it was the only available spot. Then we realized why it may have been open: chickens roost in the palm above it, and cleaning up the mess when we left was something else. The rest of our stay was great. We'd never been to Key West and weren't sure where to book, so I skipped my usual booking site and tried this local place's own website. I'm glad I did. The Panama Suite was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed, with its own street entrance. It felt like home. Staff were helpful and friendly before we arrived, and check-in and checkout were effortless. We parked the car when we got there and walked everywhere for the couple of days we stayed.

The porch was the best part for us. We sat there chatting with people from the community, and the chickens and roosters around town brought us plenty of laughs and joy. Staff were engaging and knew the town and places to eat, from the moment we checked in until checkout. Our room was extra clean, and the location was within walking distance of the Inn. We stayed from 1/30/26 - 2/1/26 and had a good visit, with pleasant staff. The problem showed up after checkout: our bags and clothes had a musty, smoky smell. Washing removed most of it, but not all, and even after being aired out for a month and a half, our bags still smell. There was a humidifier in the room. We emptied it three times during our two nights there, and each time it was completely full of water. I'm not sure whether that caused the odor or if it came from whoever stayed before us, but be warned your belongings may be ruined. We contacted the property to let them know, and they thanked us for the information.

This place was beautifully restored, clean, welcoming, and full of thoughtful touches. Our room had a dehumidifier, a fan, and a good AC unit; downstairs there was filtered water, plus complimentary coffee and adult beverages. It was quiet and comfortable, and we'd definitely recommend staying here and would likely return. The one thing that interrupted the mornings was construction noise. I think they were finishing up by the time we left.
