Britney at the front desk was so lovely! The property was perfectly placed, close to everything. I had a great stay and getaway.

The room didn't feel designed for tired guests who need quiet, especially for $450. We had no soundproofing, and the AC was incredibly loud. Its energy-saver mode was impractical since it switched itself on and off about every minute. The small spiral staircase felt dangerous. By 4 a.m., my whole family was awake from the AC noise and roosters outside.

The room was nice and clean, with a good bathroom. There were four of us in the Havana Suite, my husband, our two adult children, and me. The second bed is up in a loft, reached by a tight spiral staircase. If you're tall, mind your head. We were there mainly to catch the ferry to Dry Tortugas National Park. The place was walkable to some great restaurants and bars on Duvall Street, and we enjoyed our two nights. Breakfast was good, but it's served outside under an awning. When it rains, the setup needs rearranging to keep the food dry, as we found out. The pool is advertised as heated in winter, but it's actually a hot tub heated year round, so it wasn't refreshing on a hot June day.

The location was convenient, with attractions only minutes away, and the owner provides free parking about three blocks off. But the noise was a real problem. We could hear every footstep from the upstairs neighbors, and because our room was the first by the entrance, people coming and going and slamming the door woke us around 4 a.m. The AC was loud, though we needed it in the heat. I also found a yellow urine stain on the toilet seat, apparently left by previous guests. That made the cleaning standards seem quite low.
