Kamaole Beach Club

We love Maui and still enjoyed the ocean and other places, but this stay left us unhappy. We’d rented a timeshare here before and had a perfect unit right across from the ocean. A couple of years ago, we didn’t realize we were getting a different unit this time. It was near the pool, which made it a little louder, and right by The Texaco gas station and ABC store, with constant car noise. Landscapers and trash collectors also came early in the morning, despite the quiet hours we thought they were supposed to follow.

Kam 1 Beach is right across the street, and you can’t beat that location. Shops and restaurants, including happy hours, are an easy walk away. We’ve stayed here a few times, and the recent updates really impressed us. We especially appreciated having air conditioning in both the living room and master bedroom. The office and maintenance staff are always helpful. Looking forward to another Maui trip and a stay at KBC!

The best part of Kamaole Beach Club is how close everything is. Cross S. Kihei Rd at the controlled pedestrian intersection and you can reach the ocean in 10 minutes or less. A walk of just 1 to 3 blocks in either direction takes you to stores, services, cafes, restaurants, and tour or equipment rental shops, including dozens of Maui’s highly rated businesses. There’s a beautiful pool on site, and the office staff were friendly and helpful. Our condo’s layout and furnishings were comfortable. It’s one of the older Kihei resorts, so I wasn’t expecting pristine glitz. The two-bedroom units are upstairs, with separate entrances and no elevators. Smokers and vapers have a covered spot in the parking lot.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the portable air conditioners kept the condo cool enough. Our clean downstairs one-bedroom had a kitchen stocked with plates, glasses, utensils, and the like. It’s right across from the beach, though the main road and nearby Texaco made it somewhat noisy. There was no dining set on the Lanai, and we didn’t use the pool because it felt uninviting. There’s no housekeeping during a one-week stay.
