Stratford Inn Tyler

The second room wasn't any better, even though the staff were nice when we asked to switch. There was hair in the bathroom, and toothpaste splatter still covered the mirror, so it didn't look like it had been cleaned. Our first room had dead roaches, stains on the bedding, walls, and curtains, plus an unbearable smoke smell. You get what you pay for, I guess. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The front desk staff are always ready to help, and the location and price work well for me. I stay here often because people leave you alone. Good value.

I called while trying to book because I had a couple of questions I couldn't find answers to. Both people who picked up were rude, and one hung up on me. It seems like that kind of attitude is common around Tyler.

The bathroom was awful: mold around the faucet, black mold on the floor outside the tub, burn marks on the tub, and a shower curtain covered in brown stains. The toilet base was dark brown and badly needed cleaning. Even the only toilet paper roll was brown-stained, as if it had been wet and dried, and the ceiling had been patched with toilet paper. The towels smelled like fryer grease, and the hand towel was brown and stained. I asked for a non-smoking room at check-in, but mine reeked anyway. The floor was peeling, and cigarette ashes covered the sink and vanity. This is the nastiest hotel I've stayed in. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, except maybe the local board of health.
