Breakfast was the letdown. There was barely anything in the fridge, the coffee tasted watered down, and only a handful of bananas were out. It came across like they were rationing the portions. My room, on the other hand, was tidy and comfortable enough, and the little hotel looks recently redone. It worked well for a night before I got back on the road.

The room shutters look nice, but they let in enough light that I couldn't get the complete darkness I'm used to. Breakfast was passable, though it could use more choices, a toaster, and another waffle maker. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The beds were reasonably comfortable, but the metal frame underneath makes a loud noise if your foot bumps it, which happens easily since it sits close to the edge.

The train comes by often overnight, so light sleepers may have a hard time here. The room was clean and the bed felt great. Breakfast was a mess: no waffle batter, warm milk, just one juice choice, and I had to ask them to replenish the hot food. When the toast bread ran out, I found some in the cupboard below. Someone besides the front desk person should be looking after breakfast. Everything else was AWESOME!

We only stayed the one night, but for the price I'd happily return. It's a fun, quirky little place, with movie star paintings on the walls. Breakfast was good, with eggs, sausage, and waffles, and coffee was available by the front desk during the day.

We stop here on the way to see family in California, and it has everything we need: an easy freeway exit and return, breakfast included, a restaurant and bar on site, and a pet-friendly policy. The room isn't luxurious, but it suits us just fine. It's our favorite stopover.
