Springhill Suites Kingman Route 66

We checked in at noon with a reservation and weren't told the TV wasn't working. The desk had an excuse when I reported it, then said there was no signal because of their TV provider and that they already knew about it. At 7 p.m., it still hadn't been fixed. For a Marriott property with rooms that aren't cheap, guests should be told about this at check-in. Very disappointing.

The breakfast was poor, and the bed was uncomfortable. We could hear people walking above us and traffic around 5 a.m., so the rooms don't seem well insulated. Check-in took over 30 minutes, and we'd already waited more than 30 minutes for the person ahead of us. Then our card didn't work, and we had to wait in line again to sort it out. I regret booking here. Marriott cost about $50 more than other places, and I had to reserve several rooms, each considerably pricier than nearby hotels. I wish we'd stayed somewhere else. Go elsewhere and save your money.

I've stayed at hundreds of Marriott hotels around the world as a Marriott Platinum member, and this SpringHill was the worst. I've had cleaner stays at Motel 6. The place looks worn, with stains on the lamps, walls, and carpet, plus a dirty couch. I can accept that it's old, but pulling back the sheet to find hair and drool stains was absolutely unacceptable. They hadn't changed the sheets, just tucked them back in and left our family to sleep in someone else's filth.

This hotel falls short of Marriott Springhill Suites standards. I often choose the brand because I expect a newer, cleaner place, but this one is old and worn, with cosmetic changes mainly making the lobby look more current. The hallway carpet was dirty, as was the scuffed elevator. Our toilet groaned like a foghorn every time we flushed. The fitness room had no towels, mats, or wipes, and its grimy-looking floor put me off working out. It needs a full renovation.
