Camden Inn & Suites

At $350 a week, rent seems more than fair compared with local prices, especially with cable, electricity, and water and sewer included. The location is good, and the rooms are spacious.

The beds and pillows were comfortable, and since we only needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours, the room did the job. We arrived just after midnight and left shortly afterward. The office person gave us a lower rate because we were so late. There were a few small bugs in the bathroom, and the grate over its window seemed odd. Cut strips of linen covered the room window, but didn't block it fully. Since the room opened to the outside, I didn't feel very secure, and I wouldn't have been comfortable leaving my belongings there for long.

I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. There were several bugs in the room, the carpet hadn't been swept and had stuff scattered around, and the linens were dingy and stained. The bed sheets and blankets, towels, and washcloths were all marked up. I also found stains on the bed linen and urine stains around the toilet. The room's smoke detectors were missing. The place badly needs upgrades, and my honest rating would be minus five stars. I only gave it one so I could write a review.

The bathroom was passable apart from the sink pulling away from the wall and the exhaust fan hanging from the ceiling. The microwave and fridge were filthy, so I didn't feel safe putting my bagged food near them. The room smelled strongly of smoke, half the carpet was lifting, and the lampshades were torn. Everything I touched left a dirty residue on my hands, so the whole room needed wiping down. I was after a cheap room, and this one was cheap, but I was shocked. I eventually fell asleep after about six beers, lying on a towel on top of the comforter. I woke up smelling like an ashtray and felt sick from whatever was growing in the air. It wasn't worth getting sick over.
