Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kingsland Naval Base I-95

The breakfast was amazing. There were fresh hot sausage patties and fluffy scrambled eggs for me as someone who’s gluten-free, plus waffles, bagels, toast, and more. The location is convenient and very quiet off I-95, and I felt safe around the property. Michelle explained the breakfast and the side doors I could use to walk my service dog. Check-in went smoothly, and she was thorough. Hotels.com had technical problems and never confirmed my booking, but Michelle took care of it. The first-floor Spartan suite had a TV and phone that didn’t work, so she moved me to a same-price room on the third floor that was carpeted and much nicer. The bathrooms weren’t very clean and the baseboards looked like they hadn’t been washed in years. The beds were fluffy rather than firm, but the well-built property helped me feel and sleep well. A good deal for under $100.

There are fast food places and restaurants within walking distance, and breakfast was simple but had plenty of options: eggs, sausage patties, different breads, yogurt, and a waffle machine, along with juice, milk, tea, hot chocolate, and drip coffee. Bradley was still around at 7:30 in the morning, keeping the breakfast area stocked, and even remembered my name. At $79, it felt like good value for one adult and two kids, and I’d stay again. We stopped overnight on 12/29 on our way north. Bradley gave us a friendly welcome and a cookie around 10 p.m. The room was reasonably clean for this class of hotel, with no sign of bugs and mattress covers on the beds. The bathroom was a little cramped but fine for a short stay, and the bed was comfortable for me.

On our way back from Hilton Head, we stopped for one night and found the stay very comfortable. Bradley at the front desk was warm and welcoming, and made sure we had what we needed. The hotel was clean and the staff were great. We had a wonderful visit and recommend staying here.

After pulling off I-95 into a cluster of hotels, we picked this nice Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham. The staff at the desk were friendly and knew their stuff. Our room was clean, the heat worked well, and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good too. Exactly what tired travelers need, and all at a great price. Five thumbs up.
