Rodeway Inn

The room was clean, and booking online was easy. Staff were friendly. The odd door card did work, and I was surprised there was a mini fridge but disappointed there wasn't even a mini coffee maker. I'd booked two queen beds for three people, but we only got two sets of towels. It seemed a little strange that some people apparently live there. We couldn't get through the gate to use the pool, and although continental breakfast was included, we skipped it because the sign was taped to the door and the whole thing felt sketchy. It's a place to sleep if money's tight and you don't have another option.

I woke up congested with puffy eyes after staying in a nonsmoking room that smelled strongly of smoke. Turning on the AC made the smell worse, so I had to shut it off. Luckily it wasn't too hot outside. Booking here was an instant regret. The breakfast was a joke, and for $60 the whole place was a joke. I usually keep hotel stays under $70 because I check in late and leave early. I've stayed at a few old places that were struggling, but most at least cleaned the rooms. The lack of cleaning and the free “breakfast” were the lowest I've experienced. What made this place the worst was the blatant lies in its description.

The rooms were nice and clean, there was hot water at any time of day, and the manager at the front desk was very friendly. It was a nice motel overall. The one thing I didn't like was the maid trying twice to walk into my room while I was still in there, without knocking or announcing herself.

The woman at the front desk was very nice, but the room was disgusting. There were no bed skirts, so the stained, nasty bed springs were visible, and I spotted major stains on the carpet and desk chair right away. I wouldn't let my kids go in there, and I'm a guy who can put up with a little. We'd driven a bit over five hours hoping to spend St. Patrick's weekend somewhere new, but every nearby hotel was sold out or very expensive for the weekend. So we drove home.
