My daughter and I were worn out after traveling all day and just wanted food and sleep, so we didn’t ask to switch rooms. The room was filthy: the main door’s safety lock was broken, the comforter was dirty, there was hair in the tub, and the sink wouldn’t drain. The shampoo and conditioner bottles were already half used, and I found a dead bedbug in a corner. We had to push a table in front of the door to feel safe. When I mentioned the problems at checkout, the staff member was rude and dismissive. Terrible service and staff.
We booked two rooms for Friday night, and the property looked nothing like its website photos. One room smelled strongly of cigarettes, so I went back to the front desk. The agent, who had AirPods in and seemed completely uninterested, gave me attitude and then assigned us a two-queen room instead of the king we’d booked. At check-in she’d also said my mother-in-law needed a first-floor room “because clearly she is old,” even though we hadn’t asked for one. Both rooms were disgusting: stained linens, mold under the bed, grime and dirt on the walls and bedside table, missing lightbulbs, and a broken hairdryer. The luggage cart was broken too. Days Inn and Wyndham should be ashamed. Either they aren’t doing regular quality checks or they think this is acceptable. I left my glasses behind, which was my mistake. When I called around 8 a.m. the following Friday as we were passing through Knoxville again, the GM said he’d look and call by 9:30. He never did. I called several more times, but it just rang. I contacted Wyndham, which owns the Days Inn brand, and they had him email me. He’d found the glasses, but said I needed to send a prepaid shipping label to get them back. He also blamed me for not telling them our second room was bad and asking for a third, which I’m sure would have been just as bad.
Trash, broken glass, and used needles were scattered around the parking lot, and I never felt secure here. The hotel and its guests came across as sketchy, and the whole place was disgusting inside and out. The rooms are run-down, trashy, and barely clean. Staff weren’t friendly either. A pizza delivery guy looked terrified to bring the food because of how rough the area is. If you can avoid staying here, do. You won’t feel safe.
They advertise breakfast, but it was only muffins and cereal. The hotel has clearly seen better days. I wouldn’t call it dirty, though parts of the shower looked rough. Bring your own towel if you can, since theirs were stained and discolored with age.
The room was filthy, with cobwebs in the corners, marks on the beds, and stains on the pillows. I asked for fresh sheets and got attitude. At check-in they also took an extra security deposit that hadn’t been mentioned when I booked. When I brought that up, the staff member just said I could cancel and go somewhere else. I never got her name. The staff were rude, added hidden fees, and don’t make an effort to fix problems when you call. Be cautious at check-in, and take photos of everything if you stay so they can’t cheat you out of that extra deposit.
