Afternoon tea in the Wisconsin Room was excellent. The setting, staff, service, and whole experience were a real highlight. The property has charm, but the service and responsiveness fell short of what I expected from a resort of this caliber. Our room assignment was frustrating at first. Even though our group booking included a documented request, there was confusion over room categories and little flexibility to switch until someone in our group cancelled. It was eventually sorted out, but the process felt rigid and harder than it needed to be. I was more troubled when my high-end headphones and a sentimental north face jacket went missing from the gym. After I reported it, there didn't seem to be much urgency or real effort to look into it. Service at Horse & Plow was uneven too. The staff seemed curt when I hadn't checked in at the host stand, which wasn't visible from the entrance I used.

A couple of nights at the American Club were close to perfect. The Wisconsin Room food and service were outstanding at breakfast and dinner, and my room was beautiful. The jacuzzi tub filled fast, and the service throughout was the best I've had anywhere. The one snag was that the merchandise we bought at the gift shop disappeared at the Horse & Plow bar and never turned up.

My wife and I were at the American Club for a conference and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the staff were great, and we enjoyed our room as well as the other facilities and amenities. I'd definitely recommend the resort.

Sheffie and Maggie made the stay feel easy and welcoming. As a first-time guest, I was confused about the spa rates and specials and had quite a few questions. They patiently walked me through check-in, explained my options, and kept helping with follow-up questions afterward. They never seemed rushed or impatient, and their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made me feel cared for. Their help made the whole experience enjoyable and seamless, and left a lasting impression. They're a real asset to an already beautiful, stunning hotel.

We had lunch at Blackwolf Run during Christmas week, and the decorations were beautiful. The food was very good until dessert. My carrot cake was a small, thin slice of something with a sour cream sort of taste, and I was really disappointed. The other desserts at our table went over well. I wouldn't order the supposed carrot cake.
