Comfort Inn & Suites La Grange

The room was comfortable and the location worked well for me. The older gentleman on the night desk was especially kind. I asked for a few things, including a room change, and he gladly helped. Thanks also for lending me a phone charger while I took care of business. When my plans changed the next day and I needed another night, a different desk clerk said I would have to pay a $100 security deposit. He said the previous clerk had failed to collect it the night before. After I pushed back a little, he also said it was because I had only paid $70 the previous day. I corrected him: my total had been $84 and change. He replied that since I booked through a third party, the hotel only received $70. I felt completely devalued. Apparently my $70 wasn't enough to merit guest satisfaction, and the way he treated me was hard to take. I chose not to book another night. The room's quality didn't justify his snooty attitude, and this isn't the Four Seasons. My service rating is two stars, thanks to the older white gentleman who was taking me to prom. Blessings.

We are still waiting for our money back, and this has been a really stressful, unprofessional mess. A third party took more than $800 from our checking account for a reservation that is still 10 months away. When we asked to cancel, we were told the refund needed the general manager's approval. He has been unavailable for two weeks. We were assured at first that cancelling would be no problem and that the manager would confirm it when he returned. That still hasn't happened. All we need is his approval to get our money back.

The streetlights make the front window really bright, and there's no way to cover it. The gentleman at the desk was prompt and nice when we checked in. I'd stay here again.

The couch in our room was grimy, and the pool was green and uninviting. I was also charged twice for two drinks I bought with my card during the stay. The second charge came two days after checkout. When I called, the same desk clerk I'd spoken to before insisted that we'd checked out later than we did and was very rude. It still hasn't been sorted out. The front desk was no help when I first called about a booking issue either. The staff member didn't understand how third-party booking sites work and refused to assist. Definitely not worth the price.
