River Valley Motor Inn

I booked this for the Real Deal Trailride '25. It did the job for the price, and I didn't see any pests in my room. The sheets and towels looked clean, though the room smelled a little stale at first. That faded as it cooled down and aired out. There was coffee, a fridge, and a microwave. The bed was quite firm, the pillows were tiny, and the floor felt dusty and gritty. The bathroom was cramped, and I wasn't sure about the tub. I'd stay again at this price, but not with little kids or for more than a weekend.

We got a second room from the front desk after the first one had a door that wouldn't lock from outside, even with the lock set. That room had four dead cockroaches, and later we found a live one in the bathtub. The fridge and microwave were stained, and the air smelled like ramen and burnt rice. The first room was filthy too. Walking on the floor turned our feet black, and there was dust and grime everywhere. Bugs came out of the sink with orange water. The TV didn't work, and the lights were dim and flickering. The owners were friendly and accommodating, but I still found the place disgusting and would never stay here again.

For the MS150, I reserved through Agoda ahead of time, got a confirmation, and received payment receipts. When I arrived, I and five other groups were told there were no rooms for us and the “hotel” wouldn't honor our rates. Somehow, rooms were available for everyone struggling there, but at three times the price we'd booked. This was the worst experience I've had. I don't usually write reviews, but this place feels like a scam. Stay far away.

We needed a room at the last minute on a weekend with two big local events, and the larger hotels were full. This place is older, but it was clean and well kept, with great service.
