The Village of Winnipesaukee

The Airbnb hosts have been wonderful during our little over a month here while our home is being finished. They were flexible about an early check-in, made sure we had fresh linens, and arranged good cleaning with little notice. The unit itself is homey, well stocked, very clean, and feels like a grandparents' vacation condo rather than a stuffy Airbnb. I rarely leave a negative review. My husband and I run a small business, so we know how much a bad review can affect a livelihood. But the resort management's practices seem disorganized and questionable, and guests deserve better. The hosts are amazing, and the resort should match the care they put in. The communal laundry room was a mess. Machines were unreliable and poorly maintained: I've had loads that didn't spin, and basins full of suds left my clothes soaking in stagnant water while detergent pods were wasted. There are no clear hours posted, just signage covered with tape. After I'd used the room late for weeks without trouble, management locked it at 9:30 PM while my loads were still running. I called the after-hours number twice; someone answered and promptly hung up. Winter upkeep is another serious problem. Walkways were repeatedly left with untreated snow and ice, and I fell twice. Between the neglected grounds, broken laundry equipment, and poor handling of guests, management shows little regard for people's time, clothes, or safety. A capable resort maintains its facilities and keeps the grounds safe. Do better.
