The bathroom fixtures were a mess: the shower knob was broken, so we had to turn it with a washcloth, and neither the tub nor sink drained. The jacuzzi tub wouldn't hold water either. The entrance carpet was wet, the lamps didn't work, and there was hardly any light in the room. Only one outlet by the bed worked, while another looked fried. I told the front desk, but they did nothing, and they wouldn't bring more towels when we asked.

The room and building looked worn, with mold, wall stains, and cleanliness I'd put around a 3. I prefer housekeeping on request, but the routine service is only on Wednesdays or the third night. There's no continental breakfast, no coffee maker in the room, and no lobby tables to sit and work or watch TV with a cup of coffee. The coffee they did have was very strong. Nearby are Bob Evans, Denny’s, and a gas station, which is convenient. Snacks are only sold at the expensive front desk counter, and the soda machine is oddly in the lobby instead of the ice machine room. The room felt like a motel around a 2.8 rating, with the usual wear and tear. The staff weren't especially warm or personable, aside from one or two people. One employee seemed genuinely alarmed when I reported a bedbug. There's also a sign taped to the front desk demanding documents for service dogs. In most public places in the United States, the ADA doesn't allow businesses to require papers proving a dog is a service animal. They can ask whether the dog is needed because of a disability and what task it was trained to do. They can't demand proof of a disability, a task demonstration, a vest or ID tag, or certification papers. The ADA doesn't set up a federal registry or license, and private certificates aren't required under federal law. I had also reported the hallway fire alarm chirping. I was told maintenance would be notified, but that was four or five days ago. I checked the bed when I arrived, but on my fourth night, around 2 a.m. while winding down from work and studying, a very large bedbug landed on my leg. I caught it, crushed it between two key cards, and took it straight to the desk. Staff said they couldn't move me until morning or offer a refund or adjustment, even though they said inspections had recently been completed. They photographed the bug for the manager. I checked the room again, but suspect there could be more in the carpet or elsewhere. I know bedbugs, and if there's one, there are more. I packed immediately and hope it was a one-off. Now I'm itching, anxious, and afraid to sleep while I watch for bites. I'm already dealing with housing instability and had only just been recovering from an Anxiety/PTSD/Seizure relapse, so losing more sleep has been especially distressing. I don't have a car and can't drive because of my medical and disability issues. Otherwise I'd sleep in it. I'm demanding a full refund, or at least a refund for the remaining visits. I'm stuck here until Saturday, though I'll leave Friday. Please do the right thing in the morning.

UPDATE: They kept my deposit. They call it refundable, but apparently they count on you being gone for two days before you notice it hasn't come back. Lawyers have been called. Whether this is legal or connected to a crime scene, this place ought to be shut down. I thought I'd be the only one leaving a bad review, but here we are. Staff, learn English. They already had my card on file, but charged a deposit without telling me until after the room charge had gone through. When I asked for it back as I checked out, they said it would take a few days. I don't think they understand English or how deposits work. I'll file a complaint with whoever I need to in order to get this place shut down. Don't stay here.

There was mold in the microwave, toenail clippings on the floor, and stains all over the bed, walls, and bathroom. They wouldn't refund the money even though the room's condition was their responsibility. There was no manager on site to speak with. Absolutely terrible, zero out of ten. I hope the manager sees this and thinks about taking people's money for rooms like these. Would you sleep in your own hotel? It's disgusting and not worth your money.
