Fairfield Inn & Suites Lafayette I-10

The rooms had enough space, but part of the hotel was closed off, with plastic over the hallways on the entire right side. I’m not sure why. The main issue for us was the AC control: it was set to 65 when we arrived, and raising it to 67 seemed to switch on the heater. There didn’t appear to be a heat/cool on-off button.

I’d stay here again. It’s an older property, but I love Lafayette and always enjoy my time there. The front desk girl was outstanding despite the few problems I had, and I want to thank management too. Next time, if I run into issues, I’ll ask for a different room. I’m sure I left a review somewhere, maybe on Google, but I can’t find it there or on Marriott.

There was a good range of breakfast items, and the price was reasonable, but the service and equipment were a letdown. Some tables were blocked off even though the dining area was busy. The ice machine was broken, and when I told the front desk the coffee was empty, it took 15 minutes to get more. The shower door was broken too.

The room was spacious, the bed really comfortable, and breakfast was very good. The receptionists were friendly overall. But over my five-day stay, housekeeping never cleaned the room. The linens weren’t changed, the floor wasn’t vacuumed, and trash piled up in shopping bags because I was eating several meals in the room each day. They could at least have taken out the garbage.
