Key West Inn - Lafayette

The room was filthy: urine around the bottom of the toilet, and soap scum and hair in both the sink and tub. My wife is a professional house cleaner, and she was furious. They offered another room, but I declined because I figured the same cleaner handled all the rooms. I was leaving and asked for a refund, but was refused and called names. I asked the employee for her name and how to spell it. She replied, 'you spell it,' and repeated that when I asked again. I had a hard time understanding her broken English and asked how to spell her name so I wouldn't be disrespectful. I asked about a refund once more before leaving and was again told she wouldn't refund me. Two other couples we spoke to on the way to the office said the same thing about the rooms being unclean. I don't know whether they stayed or left. Avoid at all cost!

I'm on the road quite a bit, and I look for three things in a hotel or motel: a comfortable bed, good wifi, and a clean room. Like Meatloaf said, two out of three ain't bad.

A decent place to stop on a motorcycle trip through the area. The bed was okay and the room was fine, nothing fancy. There wasn't anywhere to sit outside the room, and the pool was closed. At check-in, I couldn't make out what the clerk was saying through the window in the hot sun. The lobby was closed by 4 pm.

I stayed for 21 days and enjoyed it. The place was very clean, and the people were nice.
