The house tour and welcome drinks were a lovely touch, and breakfast was very good: shrimp and grits, biscuits, and fruit. This historic B&B is in town, but the enormous old oak trees make it feel removed from it. It’s a small plantation house, which is part of its charm. We stayed upstairs with access to a balcony. It was very cool, and we only wish we’d booked more than one night. We’d absolutely stay again.

The porch swing won me over, and the oaks and camellia have me wanting to come back. My sister and I stayed in the Voorhies room, and the beds were comfy. We thought we didn’t like shrimp and grits, but this place showed us we’d just had inferior versions before. It was bomb!

The shower was excellent, and my spouse liked the bed, though I thought it sagged toward the middle. Breakfast was decent, but I would’ve liked the egg to be warmer before it was covered with grits, shrimp, and shrimp gravy. I know cooking for so many people is a challenge. This is a very historic inn, and it could use more electrical outlets for all the devices people carry now. The dinner recommendation was for a restaurant, but I’d hoped for somewhere smaller and local.

Mr. Ravi’s amazing hospitality was the best part of our stay. The place has authentic Southern plantation charm and is a hidden gem in the Sterling Historical District. Its floral landscaping is beautiful and lovely to look at. It’s a charming work in progress, and a must stay for weary travelers or people displaced by a storm. We loved our time there, and they were extremely accommodating.

I saw the spacious guest rooms during a garden tour, and I hear the B&B food service is excellent. The house is a must see, probably the oldest in the area. The landscaping is still getting established, but it should be lovely once it matures.
