The staff are so kind and sweet, and the clean rooms have huge TVs and very soft beds. I've tried other hotels around Lafayette, including expensive ones, but this is the best value and I'd pick it over the courtyard for the hospitality here. The prices are great too. Love it, and I'll stay here whenever I'm in Lafayette.

We left willingly before checkout, but the manager called police and told them I had said I had a gun and could do whatever I wanted. The officers checked that I was the person she'd called about, since I wasn't causing trouble or trying to stay. My son was taking our dog out to pee at 10:40 a.m. before we left. Checkout was 11 a.m. The manager had said, "you can't threatened us. We deal with people like you all the time. I'm calling the cops. Check out is 11am." I can barely walk straight and often can't feel my hands. They also kept my deposit even though we left the room as we found it. Housekeeping never came during our five days there. The overnight staff charged $90 for our first night, though I checked in at 3 a.m. and the website listed $54. The next day the manager said the rate was $70 and that we'd also been charged $10 for our service dog. When I asked why, since he helps with my seizures, she said it was their policy. That's not the law, and she couldn't explain the other $10. When we asked to extend one day, she said they were too booked, even though rooms showed as available online. I'd reported the service dog fee to the civil rights commission and asked whether this was retaliation. I plan to file a retaliation claim. I hope they know lying to police is a crime. Indiana is a one-party consent state, and I recorded my phone conversations with the manager.

The room was dirty and had roaches. They blamed my service dog for things that were already broken. Our pharmacy says the front desk forged my initials to pick up medication I'd had delivered for my son, then denied having it until the pharmacy confronted them. I was told they'd report the suspicious activity on their end, but that I should file a forgery and drug fraud claim with the DEA.

Quiet place, comfortable bed, and everything worked. My room had a full-size fridge that made no noise, and the staff were nice. It's budget lodging, and the typical motel smell meant I had to launder exposed clothes when I got home, though it didn't trigger my allergies. There's no breakfast, but food is a short drive away, including a Denny's. If you show up without booking, they may try to overcharge, so have a quote on your phone or use an app.

We ended up leaving around midnight and driving two hours home to sleep in our own clean bed. We had booked months ahead for Purdue family weekend because it was the only hotel left nearby. I normally wouldn't choose a "Motel," but saw that the rooms had been upgraded and thought we'd give it a try. That turned out to be misleading. The room smelled strange, flies or gnats were in the bathroom, and the pillows made me check the mattress. It had visible stains, and there seemed to be dead bugs at the bottom of the bed. Basic cleanliness was missing. The employees were very nice at check-in and even came to replace the beeping smoke detector battery. We didn't bother raising the cleanliness issues with them, since it didn't seem worth it. There were people hanging around, who I would guess might live there, but I'm not sure. I hope management can address the cleaning and bug problem.
