Laguna Hills Lodge

The front desk called while we were stuck in traffic for three hours to check that everything was okay, which was really thoughtful. We were coming from Bakersfield ca, and both people at the desk were super nice. They even gave us extra shampoo after we realized we’d left our shower bag at home. Little things like that add up. The rooms were roomy enough for our family of four, including me at 6’6” and my two teenage kids, both over 5’10”. The property looked beautiful even though it was winter, and the rooms were really nice, from a dad’s point of view. The beds were great for hotel beds, and the prices were good. We’d been planning to stay at the La Quinta at the spectrum, and I’m glad we didn’t. I’ll stay here next time we come down. Thanks for making our special Olympics stay so nice.

It felt safe, calm, and welcoming throughout my visit. The location made it easy to get to restaurants, shopping, and major freeways, and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. The property is well cared for, clean, and quiet, which made it a good place to unwind. Staff were professional, friendly, and ready to help. I’d happily return to Laguna Hills Lodge and recommend it to anyone wanting an affordable, comfortable stay.

We paid a little more for a corner room, and it gave us extra privacy on the balcony, with patio furniture where we could enjoy the outdoor space. It was worth it. The courtyard in the middle is lovely, and the place is quaint and quiet. My one gripe was that the bed only came with one thin blanket. I wish I’d asked for another before bedtime, though it looked like the front desk stayed open 24 hours, so I probably could have called. I’d definitely come back.

The location is the main plus, with easy freeway access and plenty of places to eat nearby. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if comfort, quiet, or quality matter to you. The rooms feel dated, the walls are so thin you can hear almost everything from other rooms, and downstairs guests can hear constant footsteps overhead. One night, an alarm in a neighboring room rang for nearly 10 minutes and was clear through the walls. The beds squeak badly too, making it hard to get a proper night’s sleep.
