Tiller House, Laguna Hills, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The location is great, and the lobby and restaurant feel bright and airy. The staff were also great, and the comfortable rooms have been fully refurbished. My hesitation is that the doors open directly outdoors. I don’t enjoy that setup when traveling alone, and I hadn’t noticed it when I booked. It’s an older hotel that’s been completely redone.

We stayed in room 305 and left thrilled, feeling like we’d found a new favorite. The breakfast was fantastic, and the whole experience felt more upscale than I expected for this price range. The Tilller in Laguna Hills, now part of the Tribute Portfolio, has been completely transformed into a boutique hotel. Everything felt brand new and beautifully designed, and the rooms were stylish, comfortable, and full of character. It’s a hidden gem, leagues beyond how it used to be. The Google rating still reflects its old pre-renovation days and doesn’t do justice to the update.

I had a good few days here and would come back. The neighborhood and hotel were quiet, though some outside noise made it into the room. It didn’t bother me much, and I slept well. The place is a smaller, fully remodeled older boutique hotel, with design details tied to local history. The lobby has a full bar and dining options, and both the food and service were spectacular. The morning and evening crews went out of their way whenever I was there. Rooms are well appointed, the beds are very comfortable, and it’s easy to walk to restaurants and convenience stores.

The decorations are lovely, and it’s easy to get here from the freeway. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a nice place if you need somewhere decent to stay, and I’d definitely return.
