Quality Inn

The older woman at the front desk was wonderful and went out of her way to help. The rest of the stay was awful. The clerk had to move me twice, and neither room was acceptable, so I decided to leave. Housekeeping needs to be replaced. Choice should visit, because Quality Inn is doing a poor job representing Choice Hotels. I won't return or recommend it.

The maids were really nice and thoughtful, and the rooms were clean for the most part. The bathroom badly needs updating, though, with rust around the shower drain and very old-looking toilet seats. We stayed one day and two nights, and each time we went to pay, the man at the front desk was rude and had an attitude. I also called from my cellphone to ask if there was a weight room. When I asked whether they had an exercise room, he asked for my room number, then sternly said no. I asked why he was being so rude, and he said he'd already told me no, but he hadn't.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but I was very disappointed. The shower needs grab bars, some drawer doors were missing, and the TV worked at night but said there was no connection in the morning. Breakfast was skimpy, with no bacon or sausage. It wasn't up to the standards I expect from Choice Hotels.

The owner's rule about not taking food to the room was frustrating, especially since there's a refrigerator there. They said no when I tried to bring a few breakfast muffins to my kids, but the muffin I tasted was old and dry, so I left them. For a five-hour stay costing $62, this was the worst hotel, and I won't come back. I've stayed at Quality Inns before, but this one had poor service, old breakfast food, broken room locks, and roaches. No stars from me. I checked in around 4 a.m. after driving all night. The front desk guy was nice, but asked me five times if I wanted smoking or non-smoking even though I said non-smoking four times. The first key wouldn't open the door, and neither did the replacement, so I had to go back again. He eventually changed my room, but it was a smoking room that smelled of smoke, with a roach crawling on the wall. He had to use the master key to open the first room. The TV wasn't programmed, the heat had been set to 90 degrees, and there were roaches in the room. I was exhausted from going back and forth, so I left my bags in the car because I didn't want roaches getting into my things. I had no working room key, and would have had to leave the door open to return to the car anyway.
