Rodeway Inn Lake City I-75

Even though I'd seen negative reviews, I was glad I gave Rodeway Inn a chance. The room was spotless, well kept, and better than I expected, and Gary at the front desk greeted me warmly. I asked to see a room before checking in, and he was happy to show me. Everyone I met was wonderful: Pamela from housekeeping, Chip in maintenance, Liz at the desk, and even the owners all made an effort to help me feel welcome and comfortable. Their care made the stay feel personal and sincere. I'm especially grateful for a kind gesture that meant a lot to me. I won't forget it. It's rare to meet such good-hearted people. Thanks to everyone at Rodeway Inn for the warmth and dedication. I'll look forward to staying again.

The one decent part was the nice guy at check-in. Otherwise, this place was awful and nowhere near worth the $145 we paid for one night. The king bed was comfortable, but it had no comforter, just one flat sheet. I was afraid to sleep there, not knowing when the sheets had last been changed or cleaned. The bath towels were yellow-stained and so rough they felt like sandpaper. I even found a roach trap behind a cabinet. There were only two of us staying, and the parking lot was empty, which made the place feel like a horror movie. The photos are false advertising: breakfast is listed as included, but there was only a coffee pot in a corner, and I didn't see any tables like the ones pictured on hotels.com. The room shown online looked pretty and clean; ours was horrible. The floor looked freshly installed, but the whole room was in terrible condition. The shower was disgusting, with rust, a broken faucet handle, and a broken bottom. Dirt covered the floor, there were cutetips on the bathroom floor, and the shower drain was clogged. The air-conditioning outlet was exposed without a cover or protection, and the smoke alarm was broken and unassembled. The room smelled really bad, and so did the lobby. The air conditioner was filthy inside. This place badly needs deep cleaning and maintenance. They should pay people to stay here.

We got what we expected, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great value.

A nightmare of a room, with a filthy carpet and an unclean bathroom. There were hairs in the tub along with dirt on the shower walls, and hairs on the toilet too. This hotel shouldn't be associated with Choice Hotels.
