Courtyard by Marriott Lake Placid

We've stayed at this Marriott many times and have had a good experience every time. The staff are accommodating, and whenever something has come up, they've handled it quickly and to our satisfaction. Keep it up, we'll be back.

The room was just okay, even though they did listen to my floor preference. I've stayed at other locations with the same name and found them much more updated. In my suite, there also seemed to be an exposed gas line and some jury-rigged electrical work. Outside, the building's side looked neglected, with paint starting to peel. It was my first Lake Placid stay, though I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for years, and this location was kind of disappointing.

The place really needs an update. The rooms have tiny TVs, the hot tubs are broken, and although the pool looks nice, several broken things make you hesitate to use it. During our hockey tournament stay, they served us leftovers that were inedible, then got upset when we went out to find food. So were we supposed to starve? There's no breakfast, and don't count on getting coffee either. They offer free water, sometimes with only a few little cups.

Our room was spotless and smelled very clean when we walked in, and the bed was so comfortable that my husband slept better than he ever has while traveling. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I liked the setting just outside town, though still within walking distance. I'd highly recommend the hotel for work or a personal trip.
