The shuttle wasn’t running during my stay because the driver was on vacation, so my flight crew and I had no transport available. Fortunately, there was a restaurant and bar right across the street. I went over after a long day of flying, had one of the best taco meal deals and a delicious cocktail, and walked around a little to explore in case I have another layover in RDM. This was my first stay at this Sleep Inn & Suites location, though I stay at this hotel brand all over the US and recognize its signature leaves motif on the glass doors, in the lobby, and on the room comforters. During my room tour, I was surprised to find the coffee maker in the bathroom. I didn’t appreciate that setup and wouldn’t think guests would want it there, though I was glad there was a coffee maker, mini refrigerator, and microwave in the room. Unfortunately, the TV remote had no back cover, and there was no temporary fix like electrical tape to hold the batteries in. My stay was March 25th, 2025. Please enjoy the pictures and videos of my personal stay and experience, and follow me for more as I travel the world.

We couldn’t sleep at all. The walls were so thin that we heard banging above us and noisy neighbors, and had to leave the TV on all night to cover the noise. The room itself was filthy and reeked of cat urine and feces. The smell made me physically ill. We opened the window to get some air, only to be flooded with cigarette smoke. Bryan was smoking outside the window, even though we understood this was a smoke-free property. At six months pregnant, I felt this was dangerous, on top of the ammonia smell and other obvious health hazard. Bryan at the front desk refused to give us the king room we booked because of our service dogs, and put us in a “pet friendly” room instead. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again. Absolutely criminal.

After more than five hours on the road, we were met at the front desk with rude, hostile, and unprofessional behavior. Staff even treated my six-year-old daughter disrespectfully when she politely asked for a complimentary cookie. That showed a serious lack of basic decency and training. Exhausted from the drive, I couldn’t accept the complete lack of empathy, especially toward a child. I canceled the reservation and moved our business to another hotel. After such a long journey, this was a complete waste of our time and shouldn’t happen to paying guests.

We were in Redmond for a local soccer tournament and had a great weekend at Sleep Inn & Suites. The location made it easy to get to the fields and nearby restaurants, and the complimentary breakfast and spacious lobby gave the team a nice place to gather. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and well stocked. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even with a bunch of energetic teenage boys along. The boys got a bit rowdy sometimes, but the hotel handled it professionally and made us feel welcome. We’d stay again for another tournament or trip to Central Oregon.

The location is handy, with a strip mall and Walmart across the street, and Dry Canyon Coulee is an easy walk for exercise. The staff were amazing. Blackout curtains and free breakfast until 10am were nice perks.
