When I visited on October 11, 2022, Mountain View Inn was closed. The phone numbers listed on Google and TripAdvisor had been reassigned to unrelated companies, and the managers office was gone. Golden Arrow Resort across the street controlled the parking. Some young people were living in the building, more like students than guests. There had been construction, though it seemed to be finished.
I’ve been coming to Mountain View Inn for around 10 years, and I’ve always had great accommodations and wonderful staff.
The town is great, and it’s easy to walk to Iron Man and even walk home afterward, even at night in the rain. Great place and people.
It’s in a good spot right in town, though the place is starting to look a bit tired.
One of Lake Placid’s best bargains!
