Suburban Studios Lakeland North I-4

I was here almost two weeks this time, and what a turnaround. The rooms are beautiful and clean, with no bugs anymore and all new beds. The man and woman managing the place are awesome, though I don't know their names. Suburban Studios and management did an excellent job making needed, positive changes. We love it here now. My earlier review wasn't good at all: there were roaches everywhere and the rooms were just nasty.

There was a big puddle on the floor from the AC leaking, and I've documented everything. You'll be hearing from us soon. We changed rooms without a problem after finding the TV on and dirt on the bed in the first one. For a cheap hotel, it wasn't that bad, but the woman working the morning of 9/28 apparently thinks guests are responsible for the fact that “they don't have a maid today.” She banged on our door repeatedly at 9am even after we said we were coming, while my husband wasn't dressed, then opened the door herself. Check-out is at 11. Hire better staff. A lack of staff isn't the customer's problem.

Don't come here. You might as well sleep in your car. Cockroaches will eat your food, and the boss will deduct your money. Even if you haven't damaged anything, you won't get a refund. The manager is rude and uneducated. Living here makes you feel undignified, so I don't recommend it and don't think it's worth coming. I'll never forget this terrible experience.

I paid $390 for six nights, and started regretting it as soon as I drove up. The outside window in my room was broken, there were no cooking utensils despite the kitchenette and the listing on booking.com, and there were tons of mosquitoes. The floor hadn't been swept, with dust plainly visible, and there was NO TOILET PAPER. I had to ask the front desk person for some. She kept apologizing, then eventually went to another guest's room to ask for a roll. I've been trying to get a refund, but it seems almost impossible. I wouldn't advise anyone to book here. It's extremely ghetto and DIRTY.
