Skylark Shores Resort

The lakefront view was great, and I slept in thanks to the solid blackout curtains. Everyone working there was really nice. There’s good WiFi coverage, plus a conference room where they let me take a Zoom meeting. I also liked the small gym and tossing horseshoes on the lawn while watching hawks, herons, geese, and ducks. The room was clean but not very cozy, the beds were alright but hard, and the towels were thin. Everything worked, including the coin laundry, though just barely, and you’d better hope the office has quarters. I wasn’t keen on the shower: water escaped through a gap under the door and got my things on the floor wet before I noticed.

Stay Dates: 11/28-11/30/2025 The peaceful feel and the views of Clear Lake made this a relaxing, enjoyable stay at Skylark Resort. It was winter, so I couldn’t use the pool, though I can imagine it’d be great in warmer weather. The property is right on the water, with scenery that makes the visit worthwhile, and there’s also a pool to enjoy when conditions allow. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. I appreciated the on-site amenities, and downtown Lakeport is close enough to reach on foot. Some things could use updating and a little more attention to detail, but those issues didn’t take away from my stay. I’d happily come back for a quiet lakeside getaway with a friendly atmosphere.

I was rotating at a hospital in Lakeport as a student, so I came here every weekend. The morning view of the lake was stunning, and the office staff provided great service. They were very accommodating about my check-in time, since I sometimes arrived late after my hospital shift. I had a very good experience and highly recommend staying here.

I love the rooms by the lake and come every June for kayaking. The resort is beautifully maintained, and I spot new improvements each year. The new wrist keys are great too.
