Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood at Belmar

The staff were kind and accommodating, and breakfast was decent. It was free, too. The hotel sits in a busy area, and parking gets a bit difficult at night. I’m not sure whether they have rooms with bathtubs. I should’ve asked because I wanted to bathe the kids. The shower was nice, but the water temperature seemed off: it was cold in the morning, then burning hot.

The suite was a great option with kids, and its kitchen made things easy: fridge, stove, microwave, dishes, pots, glasses, utensils, and even sharp knives. The hotel was clean, comfortable, well maintained, and had the amenities we needed. We had a few problems during our stay, but Penny, the Operations Supervisor, replied quickly and worked with the relevant departments to address our concerns. We appreciated how she handled it. The location is handy for getting around: about 20 minutes to downtown Denver, 16 minutes to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and around 14 minutes to Golden. Target is just a minute away for things like snacks, water, or milk, and nearby shops and restaurants include Nordstrom and Burlington. Great location and clean rooms, with a team that seems to care. We’d stay again.

The room was just right, and the service was too. I also liked the breakfast, a big plus for someone like me who enjoys taking it slow in the morning. Getting into the building and using the elevator required a key card, which made me feel secure. Parking was crowded, but the area is easy to walk around, with several rail establishments and eateries nearby. I was here for a few days on a recent visit and will definitely return.

The room was fairly clean, and my daughter was delighted to find a ladybug. We also found an ant. Parking was tough because the hotel shares a small lot with the Target store. The bigger issue was that we booked and paid for a large two-room suite, but on arrival they said we couldn’t have it and put us in their smallest room type instead. We still paid for the larger room, and they didn’t seem to care that it was half the size of what we’d paid for.
