Travelodge Cleveland Lakewood

There were bug carcasses all over the room, and the refrigerator didn’t work. We were put in one of the few rooms with a door to the outside, and when we returned, bugs were all over the door and had gotten inside. The chair was dirty, the carpet had burn holes despite this being a nonsmoking room, and there was no TV remote. A big disappointment.

It wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, and at least there weren’t any bad smells. But the room had no toilet paper, towels, soap, or trash can. The door looked like it had been kicked in during a raid, and the blankets had holes. The mattress was shot.

The area was decent and the man at the front desk was nice. Those were pretty much the only okay parts of this place. The room was filthy: there was a press-on nail from a previous guest on the bathroom floor, hair and crumbs across the carpet, a dirty bathtub, and stained sheets. None of the pillows had pillowcases, and there wasn’t a single towel or any soap in the bathroom. The chain lock on the door was broken. I found the TV remote under the bed, with no batteries, and the hair dryer didn’t work. There was water damage on the ceiling, no fridge, and no phone in the room. So nasty and gross, don’t stay here.

The stay was okay in some ways, but I wouldn’t come back. My key card was demagnetized and wouldn’t open the room, so each time I had to ask the front desk person to let me in. They couldn’t replace it with a working card. Breakfast was good except for the spoiled milk in the fridge. I poured some, took a big sip, then had to spit it out. The hotel doesn’t provide towels, which I hadn’t known, so I had to dry myself with the little washcloth they supplied. I also tried plugging my Roku into the TV, but the HDMI port seemed worn out and kept flickering on and off, so I gave up and went without it. At 3 a.m., the older overnight desk worker had fallen asleep, and I had to wake him to get my door opened. Otherwise the stay was okay.
