The hotel was clean and comfortable, and felt like the usual Hilton experience. Its location is great, though parking can get difficult at select times. I have to return to Laramie three more times this year, and the location means I might stay again, but I'll look harder at the nightly rate knowing how the guest experience is managed. If they cut corners this way, what else might be cut at guests' expense? Laramie sits nearly 7,200 feet above sea level, where hydration matters. Charging for bottled water unless someone has elite status felt unnecessary and short-sighted, especially at this altitude and given the cost of the stay. The listed price was $3 per bottle, though I was actually charged $2 ‘missing water’ after telling the desk at checkout that I had taken it. It wasn't like it ‘went missing’. On a stay totaling over $600, charging for the water in the room was the difference between a 4 or 5 star review and 3 stars. The dollar amount wasn't the point. It was the message. When friends ask about trips to Laramie, my unfortunate takeaway is that the property puts small extra revenue ahead of guest comfort. They should plan on going to a grocery store first. Small gestures matter. Here, the loss in the guest experience outweighed what the hotel gained in revenue.
The shared conference center staff were generous, capable, and friendly when we helped put on an event. We also ordered food from the restaurant and left full and happy, kids included. In our standard double Queen, there was useful storage and a mini kitchenette. The different pillow sizes were a welcome change from most places, and I found one that was incredible for my sore neck and back. The hotel staff were helpful on arrival, and we were thrilled with everything, including toiletries that smelled amazing. I heard they're going to re renovate. The mushroom sprinkler was the only thing out of order, while the pool and hot tub were plenty for us.
The shower took a little while to warm up, and parking was packed, though the location was perfect. My room was spotless and warm, with a super cozy bed. It made a reliable, comfortable home base for the graduation festivities.
I really enjoyed the food, pool, and hot tub during my two-night stay. Just remember, meals cost extra and there's no free breakfast. The staff were kind, and the room was clean and otherwise perfect. The shower pressure was just right. The pillows were all squishy and none were firm, which hurt my neck. A better variety would help. I'd absolutely stay here again.
A hot chocolate bar, fresh coffee, and lots of breakfast choices made breakfast great. The rooms were nice and very clean. They do need more parking for customers w busses, but it was a great place to stay.
