Quality Inn & Suites University

The hot tub was nice and the rooms were clean, and everything else about the hotel was really good. But at 8:30 am, housekeeping knocked to ask when we were checking out, even though checkout was at 11. We'd driven across the country and arrived in a snowstorm, so we wanted to sleep in. I asked why they'd come by, and staff said they were just wondering, then went on to knock on everyone else's door. It felt rude and unprofessional.

The location is the only good thing I can say. We were driving through last night and needed a room because the good hotels were booked. This “hotel” charged $209, but it should be called The Dollar General Hotel. Its amenities are worse than what you'd get at Dollar General: odorless shampoo and tiny bar soaps that looked like they were from 1989. If it had charged what it was worth, about $69, I wouldn't be writing this. At Hilton prices, it needed to deliver. The food was disgusting and nobody was around except staff behind the desk. Dollar General quality at Hilton rates. I wish we'd kept driving. Avoid this rip-off of a dump. The bathroom photo below says it all.

I paid over $200 for one Saturday night in the off-season, which seems crazy high. The beds were comfortable, but the whole place felt run down. My room was dated, with chipped paint and scratched furniture.

It was clean and quiet, the breakfast was good, and the beds were almost comfortable. Everything was typical for a two-star hotel, and it served our needs since it was close to the event we were attending. We had to pay way too much, though I guess that's supply and demand and not the hotel's fault.
