Motel 6 Las Vegas, Nv – Downtown Fremont St

The room surprised me in a good way: it had a fridge and microwave, the floors were clean, and the tub was smooth. I took a really nice shower. The outside looks completely horrible, though! 😂 All the rooms are nonsmoking, which is a plus since they don’t smell like casinos, though it can be a bummer if you want to smoke. There are lots of food choices, and Pepe's Taco's is right on the corner. Delicious. Get anything El Pastor 🤷🏿. Convenience stores and liquor stores are nearby too. Don’t get confused by the Fremont St name. This Fremont isn’t downtown, it’s in the hood, with a high prostitution area. 😅

The neighborhood felt rough, but we planned only to sleep there, so we checked in. The room didn’t look as nice as the photos, and it felt dirty. The bed had sheets but no blanket on top. We left within 15 minutes and didn’t use the bathroom or create any housekeeping work. The desk clerk said she couldn’t refund the first night because I’d entered the room, but said I’d only be charged for one night. Instead, I was billed for the full weekend. I first contacted the property, then found the corporate customer service number, and I’ve been trying to fix the charge for more than three weeks with multiple calls. At first I hoped for a full refund, but I understood that technically checking in might mean paying for one night, even though that was frustrating. After this long ordeal, I feel a full refund would be reasonable. I’m still trying to get it resolved. I wouldn’t recommend this location for travelers.

This motel is cheap, but the cleanliness and general environment weren’t good. Roaches were crawling on the ceiling near our beds, as well as by the fridge and TV. One of our towels was dirty and hadn’t been replaced. Every so often cigarette smells from outside came through the air conditioner, which didn’t feel safe for us. I wouldn’t recommend staying here on a Las Vegas trip.

It’s affordable and covers the basics, so it’ll do if you just need somewhere to sleep for a night. The room was a bit dirty and could use better upkeep. Some cleaning and maintenance would make a real difference. Don’t expect much beyond the bare minimum.
