The beach is just a short walk away, and we liked the pool deck, new chairs, and grilling area. There are three grills, one gas and two charcoal, and we used the gas one for dinner. The boat slips out back looked very nice, too. Our family of five had plenty of room, the beds were comfortable, and the price was good. The rooms themselves are very dated and the furniture should be replaced. Each room has a window AC unit. The pool water was so warm it wasn't enjoyable. At check-in, the front desk woman seemed bothered and sent us to the wrong room, though the woman who took over that evening was very nice.

We felt more comfortable here than at the places we’ve rented nearby in past years, and our family of six plans to return. The houses have been remodeled, the pool is brand new, and the fire pit was great for a big group. Staff were attentive and really impressed us. We spent our time kayaking, renting a jet ski, and swimming a lot. What an amazing place, truly a Place To Be.

The beach is only about a 30-second walk, and we always found somewhere to park. Our renovated room was huge and clean, with a full kitchen, big bathroom, comfy bed, and a great living room with a large flat-screen TV. It stayed quiet day and night. The pool has also been redone, and it was heated and looked lovely. The friendly front desk team were easy to reach and kept helping us with extra soap, towels, and whatever else we needed. There are plenty of cute restaurants nearby, and we had fun exploring the surrounding towns, including Ringling Museum and Sarasota Jungle Gardens. We’ll be back soon and often!

For my group, this was just what I needed: an affordable place near Venice with easy beach access and a range of room layouts. Having a kitchen in every room saved us a lot on meals out, and we grilled outside on our last night. The pool could've been a little warmer, but that's minor.

We had a really nice stay at A Place To Be. The spacious rooms and location suited us well, and they handled our very late arrival without any fuss. We had asked for a crib, but there wasn't one when we got there at night, so we bought a pack and play. They reimbursed us, and everyone was accommodating. We'd definitely stay again.
