It seems quiet when you first arrive, but the place feels sketchy. I've stayed at lots of hotels and motels around KC, and this is probably one of the worst in the suburbs. There's no peace here, with all kinds of people making noise at all hours. Someone upstairs sounded like they were doing construction for hours starting at 2:00am. When I called management, did they do anything? You can guess. They have no control, rules, or backbone. It seems like the police are always here because of criminal activity. As soon as I walked into the room, I could smell what seemed like a roach infestation. There's mold, the A/C unit was broken, and only some rooms have a fridge or microwave. The vents were very dirty and dusty too, which felt unsanitary and unsafe. The person in charge doesn't seem to care about the property, just collecting money. They need to tear this place down and renovate it. Don't come here. Spend your money somewhere you'll be treated better, even if you have to pay a little more.

We're staying here while we wait for our apartment, and the front desk person was so kind and understanding. He had a really calm, positive energy. Low-key, I had no idea where to put the trash since I've never stayed at a motel before 😬 The customer service saves the place. I only wish I were here in summer so I could use the pool.

It's a somewhat nice motel, but several things need fixing ASAP. The rooms were hotter than hell even with the heat off, and switching to cool just made the vent blow hot air. Opening the window wasn't an option because there were no screens. In one bathroom, there was a leak in the shower coming from the light. Explain that one. That bathroom is a death trap. There was also some unknown substance on the wall, maybe snot or something else. We booked three rooms, two adjoining. When we opened the connecting doors, roaches scattered everywhere, and we killed as many as we could see.

This was my third and last stay here. On the first visit, the room had no A/C and was super hot, but I didn't complain. The second time, the towels and sheets had hair and stains. This time I spotted a roach, got itchy four hours after checking in, and woke up with pink eye. It's cheap, but not cheap enough for this. I won't be back.

Check-in, checkout, and the service were fine, and the location was decent. But my husband and I had a gross stay, and I can't recommend this Motel 6 in Lenexa. The non-smoking room smelled like burnt cigarettes, the shower was filthy with human hairs and mildew, and the towels looked stained. The A/C didn't work at all. There was one bug in the bathroom and another in the main room. It was about as basic as a room can be, with one queen bed and no mini fridge or microwave. I've stayed recently at Motel 6 locations in OKC, Santa Fe, Council Bluffs, and Flagstaff, and those were all fine. I don't expect a great experience at Motel 6, but I do expect a clean place to sleep and shower. The owners should put some money into maintaining the motel and keeping the rooms clean.
