Hotel Blue

Service was wonderful, friendly, and focused on guests, and the price seemed reasonable for the level of lodging. The rooms and suites are spacious, beautiful, exceptionally clean, and nicely designed. It’s a real boutique-hotel gem, right in Lewes, within walking distance of good restaurants and just two blocks from the town beach.

We loved sitting on our balcony and looking out at the peaceful canal. The queen bed was comfortable, and the room stayed quiet at night. The staff were helpful, fun, and wonderful throughout, and we felt relaxed from arrival to departure. The only reason I took a star off the room was the very blurry picture on the ancient TV. We barely watched it, but they should upgrade to Smart TVs. The Wheelhouse and Irish Eyes are close by and had great drinks and food, and we walked into town several times. Hotel Blue was perfectly placed for the Rehobeth Jazz Festival. We hope to do it again next October.

I enjoyed this place a lot, though as a solo traveler I found it a little more than I needed, since it seems geared toward couples and romantic stays. The room was clean and well put together, with a fireplace, roomy bed, and balcony. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly, and the hotel is close to good restaurants, the beaches, and Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. If you’re stuck choosing, they have restaurant suggestions; I especially recommend Striper Bites, where I got a whole lobster for $25. I was birding and had stayed at ComfortInn hotels in two other towns. Those did the job, but weren’t anything special.

We were in town for a wedding, and the room was very comfortable and an easy walk from the main street. The front desk staff were friendly and hospitable. We also enjoyed the relaxing sauna and the happy-hour wine. We’ll stop back.
