Four Points by Sheraton Suites Tampa Airport Westshore

The bathroom was filthy. There was hair all over the floor, the toilet still had fecal matter in it, and the shower filled with black hair as soon as it backed up and wouldn’t drain. We couldn’t shower. The whole building had no air conditioning, and my room was over 80 degrees. Staff said it had been repaired and there were no issues, but it never worked during our stay. Call ahead before booking to check that the AC works. I’d recommend anywhere else.

The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, and the suites were huge, with fridges and oven cooktops. But the rooms felt dingy and uninviting, even though they were clean, and the whole place is dated. A remodel could make this a great hotel. With newer, nicer places in the area at about the same prices, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff were kind and apologetic, but that couldn’t undo how awful the start of our vacation was. Our room stayed at 80 degrees all night even with the thermostat set to 60, so we didn’t sleep and sweated out all our water. The room and hallway phones didn’t work, meaning you had to go down to the front desk for help. There was also black hair all over the shower curtain, even though both my partner and I are blonde. At 4am, the only solution for the AC was to move us down four floors, and the air there was still barely working. This hotel isn’t cheap enough to justify the poor accommodations and cleanliness.

The restaurant served a good breakfast, and the hotel is conveniently close to Tampa and other activities. Everything was decent, though you can tell the building is older and has had a few interior changes. My main gripe was that the ice machines on my floor had been out of order for a while. It was a small hassle, especially for someone older.
