Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown

We were there December 28th to 30th, and everything went smoothly from the start. The room was spotless and well cared for, and the public spaces were exceptionally clean. The hotel is beautifully decorated, too. The front desk team were welcoming, professional, and helpful, and the valet crew were friendly and efficient, so parking was stress-free. The downtown location made it easy to walk or get quickly to restaurants, attractions, and waterfront spots. A fantastic stay, and I’d happily return. Thanks to the whole team.

The room was in great shape and had everything I needed. Breakfast was included. I only stopped for coffee and some fruit, but the rest looked tasty. The location also puts plenty of good food, drinks, activities, and more within walking distance. This was my first time in Tampa, and I’m glad I picked Hyatt Downtown. Everyone at the front desk greeted me with a big smile, not just the gentleman helping me. My one issue was that I’d paid extra to have valet parking included, but I was still charged for both nights. I caught it by looking through my receipt. One quick call to the front desk got it resolved.

There was loud music outside tonight, and we can’t fall asleep before an important event tomorrow. I’d think there must be a city ordinance about noise this loud after 10pm. Manager Lisa wasn’t helpful at all. For over $500 a night, the price should match the quality, including at least the room. This hotel didn’t offer anything special: the breakfast was average, the pillows felt very cheap, and there’s no parking except valet at $45/day. The bathroom had no lotion or toothpaste. For this price, or half of it, you can get better elsewhere.

They upgraded us to a suite, and it was enormous, maybe 900 sq.ft. The kitchen, dining, and living spaces were apart from the bedroom and bathroom. The lobby is huge too, with comfortable seats if you need to wait for your room. It’s a beautiful hotel in a convenient location. The restaurant and free breakfast were both good, and we felt completely safe walking around the area. We’ll stay here again on our next visit.
