DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Lexington

The staff across every part of the hotel were the nicest people I've met during a hotel stay. The bar makes excellent cocktails, and the food was so good I'd stop to eat there even if I wasn't staying overnight. I live in central KY and wouldn't have booked a hotel just for a stay, but a snow and ice storm kept us from safely driving to work from the surrounding counties. Our company put us up here until everyone could get home. This hotel deserves to stand on its own instead of being hidden behind other small businesses. We'll book a night away from home here soon.

I've usually given hotels five stars, and the places I've stayed have been upfront about charges. At check-in at DoubleTree, they asked for a card to hold and said it wouldn't cost anything. Then $200 came out of my bank account, and now I see another $60 charge. At least I had enough money in the account. The toilet in the decent room barely worked. We were hardly there except to eat and sleep, and we cleaned up the room, took out the trash, and gathered all the bath towels. Two nights have cost me almost $1,000. For that, I might as well have gone to a five-star hotel and maybe paid less. I guess that's why they have me do things like this.

We booked without seeing the place first since we're from out of town, and what a beautiful spot it is. The Atrium is amazing, the rooms have a layout unlike any I've seen, and all the amenities are top notch. We had a handicap accessible room with a toilet that's actually tall enough and a walk-in shower large enough for two. It's a hidden gem, and I'll definitely come back when I'm in Lexington.

The rooms felt brand new, and several of my customers told me their rooms were lovely and the beds comfortable. I hosted a company event here using two banquet rooms, where the staff were attentive and quick to help whenever we needed something. The renovation looks like it spared no expense. I’ll definitely come back.
