The stay itself was fine, but I paid through booking.com ten days ahead and then got charged again at checkout, for more than the original amount. It was almost $500 for one night, charged twice to my card. Trying to get help was a mess: long waits, calls that got disconnected, and no further assistance. I was basically told to sort out the bank charge myself. They’re hard to reach when you have questions, and I won’t stay here again.

There are plenty of outlets and USB ports in this older but pleasant HIE. Breakfast is the usual bland IHG food, and the coffee has been awful since they switched to Costa machines. That is, when the machines work. This one has been out of service for more than two weeks.

The breakfast attendant wasn’t paying much attention, so I had to get help from the more helpful front desk clerks with the pancake machine and refilling several items. Breakfast itself was decent, and the room was nice in a good location. Chrysty, the assistant manager, was kind and very helpful when I checked in late at night.

The location just off I-81 was convenient, and I’ll stay here again. The rooms seemed new or recently renovated, with comfortable beds and no stale weed smell. Staff were kind and caring. Breakfast was the standard HIE fare, but it was carefully set up and the area was clean. The attendant seemed to take pride in the job, which was refreshing.
