Quality Inn & Suites Lexington

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was the best of the hotels we stayed at on our weeklong road trip. The pool area was excellent too. Our room looked newly renovated, though it hadn't been cleaned very well. Other shared spaces, especially the hallways, needed cleaning and repairs. My family and I stayed one night while passing through Boston on the way home. It looked as though new management might be bringing the place back up to standard. We felt we got about what we paid for, but with better cleaning and some exterior work, it could become a really nice stop.

We only needed somewhere nearby to crash after a wedding, especially since I had a double shift with just 6 hours before the next one. I nearly didn't book because the reviews made me nervous, but I'm glad we did. The room was clean, the bed was really comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the heat worked great. We could have asked for another blanket. Check-in was quick and the staff were polite, even with several guests arriving at once. There was free coffee and energy drinks for sale, which helped these tired ladies out. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but it was free and convenient. We ate, then went back to sleep after the party. The hotel was open, though security made regular rounds. If you're after luxury or atmosphere, look elsewhere. For a no-frills stay, Quality Inn Lexington did the job. The bad reviews could put a decent place out of business.

The room gave us what we needed: a clean, comfortable place to sleep, with no smoke smell or critters. The building could use some work, but the hotel was calm and quiet when we were there, early in the morning and late at night. Our room was in the same main building as breakfast, which had waffles, pancakes, juice, coffee, and other good food. The doors also have two separate locks, though neither is the bulky, heavy kind. Recent reviews had made us wary, but Halloween weekend left us with very few choices, so we hoped for the best. We arrived tired with a dead phone, and the staff made both check-in and checkout easy and pleasant. We'd stay here again.

The heating system was loud, the room smelled damp and like old cigarettes, and the bathtub looked about 30 years old. The carpets were disgusting and seemed to date from the late 80s, like the hotel itself, which may even be from the 70s. The property's maintenance feels below standard, and it needs millions in renovations. There are much better hotels nearby for just $15 more.
