The Bedford Inn

For a one-night stop while passing through, it was a decent place. The room wasn't bad, and the front desk folks made sure I had the Wi-Fi.

Update: We stayed again on 8.10.25, and the owner accused me of taking a towel. There were three of us, so I asked for an extra one when we arrived, and he gave it to us. We used it and later put it in the bed as a bolster because the pillows are pretty thin. He wanted to search my car. I opened the door, but the towel wasn't there. I took him back to the room and showed him where it was on the bed. They hadn't cleaned the room yet. I'm still upset about it. Why would I steal a towel from a no tell motel? I left one star because he did call me back about my phone charger, which I'd left behind. I was ready to write a much better review, since another motel once stole our medications and clothes while we were traveling. This stay wasn't good, and I won't be back for the next Worlds Longest Yardsale. Future guests, bring all the towels to the bathroom floor. The owner is nice enough most of the time unless he thinks you're stealing from him. The cute retro bathrooms have been updated, and I miss the old retro ones.

The people here are really nice, and the room change was handled before I even checked in. There was a plumbing problem in the room I was meant to stay in, so an employee came out and moved me to another one. It's also right across from Pizza Hut, with a gas station just a short walk away.

Update: The place has new owners now, and the things I praised before no longer apply. I stopped staying there when I'm in town. It went from five stars to minus five for me. Stay somewhere else. Before the change, I loved this small, peaceful place. The rooms were in excellent shape, and whenever I came through, I was disappointed if they were full. It was a quiet spot for a good night's sleep, and they even had free mini golf.
