Graduate by Hilton Lincoln Hotel

It was a fun change from cookie-cutter hotels, and we even had a view of the stadium from our room. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location worked well: lots of places to eat within walking distance, and not far off the interstate. We stopped here while traveling through the area.

The staff were friendly, and we still managed to enjoy the stay, but accessibility was a real problem for my son, who's 10 and uses a wheelchair. I booked a suite with a balcony for his birthday so we could celebrate, but there was a big drop between the room and the balcony. He and his chair weigh 170 pounds together, and I couldn't safely get him out there and back. The balcony by the pool had the same issue. I'd paid extra for a room with a balcony so he could enjoy it, which really broke my heart. We parked in the attached garage, thinking that would be convenient, then found a huge staircase at the entrance and no sign showing us an accessible way in. We had to go back outside and walk to the other end of the building for a narrow, pretty steep ramp. It was hard getting two kids and our luggage up it. At the front doors, there was a revolving door and a regular one without automatic opening. The revolving door could be slowed down, but that still wasn't practical for us. It's not a bad hotel, just not very practical or accessible for someone in a wheelchair.

Really clean and cozy hotel, but breakfast was disappointing. It's the first Hilton I've been to that didn't include it. We paid $16 a piece, and the food was cold and stale with very few choices. There was no cereal, milk, juice, or decaf coffee, among other things. Save your money and eat somewhere else unless you have a voucher.

Jenae was a pleasure to work with as we arranged our day-after wedding brunch at The Graduate. We also had our wedding hotel block there, and the fun retro Nebraska feel was a nice touch for our out-of-town guests. We reserved a space for a buffet breakfast, which was exactly what everyone needed after a great night of celebrating. It was hearty, well done, and a perfect way to wrap up the weekend.
